In an industrial plant in Asturias manufacturing metal shelving, noise control became a priority when continuous exposure to the noise generated by a 400-ton press was directly affecting the working environment. After an initial acoustic assessment, the source of the problem was clearly identified.
The solution: a comprehensive acoustic enclosure, fully adapted to the surroundings and the client’s specific needs.
The design was developed in collaboration with the client, adjusting dimensions, access points, and finishes to optimize both assembly and daily operation. With this collaborative approach, the solution was perfectly integrated into the plant.
SOLIDOOR ACOUSTIC DOORS: SAFE INSPECTION WITHOUT LOSS OF INSULATION
The cabin includes two double acoustic doors, model Solidoor, providing an insulation level of 45 dBA. One of them features two large integrated vision panels, allowing inspection of the interior without opening the door — improving workflow and maintaining acoustic performance.
The choice of these doors also responded to maintenance requirements. The client requested a wide and convenient access to the press to facilitate regular technical operations, without compromising insulation or safety.

NOISE CONTROL IN INDUSTRIAL PLANTS: COMPREHENSIVE SOLUTION FOR HEAVY PRESSES
Beyond functionality, the project also met aesthetic and environmental integration criteria. At the client’s request, the metal structure of the enclosure was painted in “traffic red.” This type of visual customization helps maintain consistency with the company’s internal color codes without altering the acoustic performance of the solution.
Two acoustic tunnels of approximately 1 meter were also installed for material inlet and outlet. Each tunnel was individually designed and adjusted to minimize insulation loss in these critical areas.

REGULATORY COMPLIANCE AND IMPROVED WORKING CONDITIONS
The installation was designed in accordance with current legislation on noise protection in workplace environments (Royal Decree 286/2006). With the implementation of this acoustic cabin, the noise exposure level of operators has been significantly reduced, improving both hearing health and productivity.
This project is part of a broader process of technical modernization in the metalworking industry, where noise control is not only mandatory but increasingly valued by occupational safety and maintenance departments.
